The Next Service Day
Long Islanders for Change is sponsoring a “Family Health Kit” Service Day on Saturday, June 27 from Noon to 2 p.m. in the Cafeteria a St. Hugh’s Parish Hall. We will assemble Family Health Kits for distribution to needy families in the Huntington area.
The Family Heath Kits will include contributed items such as toothbrushes, tooth paste, soap, aspirin, band aids as well as flyers with information on ways to promote good health. We are doing this to benefit these families and to call attention to the national debate on health care reform and call for health care reform that follows three principles:
- Reduced costs — Rising health care costs are crushing the budgets of governments, businesses, individuals, and families, and they must be brought under control
- Guaranteed choice — Every American must have the freedom to choose their plan and doctor – including the choice of a public insurance option
- Ensure quality care for all — All Americans must have quality and affordable health care
