Family Health Kits Service Day - June 27

We had a great Family Health Kit Service Day thanks to all who participated. Nearly three dozen volunteers came together on Saturday, June 27 to sort through the donations and assemble over 150 Family Health Kits. The Family Health Kits included information on good eating habits and good health habits as well as toothbrushes, toothpaste, Children’s Tylenol, Band-Aids, soap, shampoo, hand sanitizers and many other items. The Outreach Center at St. Hugh’s Parish will arrange for the distribution of the Family Health Kits.

Marna Schoenwald did a great job as the lead organizing for the day. Volunteers organized the donated items on long tables and then created a human assembly line where they walked along the tables filling the bags to create the Family Health Kits.

The volunteers were able to sort through several car loads of donations thanks to the terrific work of Linda Kundla in organizing the collection effort. A tip of the cap to Bruce Dansker and Deana Hutchinson, who collected donations outside a local supermarket, picked up a contribution from a local business (Bennett Medical) and lent a helping hand on Saturday to assemble the kits.

Thanks to the Cinema Arts Centre for allowing us to put a donation box in their lobby. And a thanks to the St. Hugh’s Parish Outreach Program for allowing us to use the parish hall for our work on Saturday and for distributing the Family Health Kits. Check out the photos below:
